LENGTH: 10 minutes
TOPIC: reading while paying close attention to your classmates’ reading
Choose an appropriate text based on the level and interests of your students and divide them into groups of 4-6 students.
One student starts reading at random and can read a maximum of one sentence. As soon as they end their sentence, another student must begin reading. If no one starts within a second, the whole group must go back to the beginning starting with another student reading the first sentence. The goal is to read the whole text.
The point is that students cannot decide beforehand in what order they are going to read, they have to pay attention and react to what is going on and kind of “pick up the vibe”.
